Christy Applegate, Porter Law Firm


Christine E. “Christy” Applegate is a senior attorney in the POA Division of Porter Law Firm in Austin, with expertise in real estate, business law, and civil litigation. She has built a diverse legal career, handling client matters ranging from real estate and construction litigation to business disputes. Her experience includes working with large real estate portfolios, assisting clients with property tax matters, and managing complex legal transactions. Christy is known for her strong research skills, ability to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues, and commitment to providing thoughtful, results-driven legal solutions. Outside of her professional life, Christy enjoys spending time with her dogs, exploring new destinations, cooking, and staying active through hobbies such as volleyball, running, and biking.

Clint Brown, RMWBH


Clint Brown is a Shareholder and Practice Head for RMWBH’s Property Owner’s Association Section. Clint represents clients including residential and commercial associations, master planned communities, developers, high rises and condominiums, as well as assists clients in navigating bankruptcy proceedings at the federal levels. Clint is a major driver of the firm’s education program. He routinely writes articles for and presents to the State Bar of Texas, Community Associations Institute (CAI) National and local Texas chapters, various local community association groups and individual association boards. He is a Fellow in CAI’s College of Community Association Lawyers and is Board Certified in Residential Real Estate Law and Property Owner’s Association Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Gregory Cagle, Cagle Pugh


Gregory Cagle is one of the founding partners of Cagle Pugh. Gregory concentrates his practice in civil and complex litigation involving real estate, nonprofit and for-profit corporations, business disputes, construction defects, and residential and commercial community associations. Gregory has extensive litigation experience and has served as a lead trial attorney in hundreds of trials in front of judges and juries.

Gregory also has over twenty years of experience in representing Texas community associations as general counsel on all aspects of issues involved in the operation and governance of association-governed communities, including management issues, compliance with federal and state laws, interpretation of and compliance with governing documents, architectural review of proposed construction, covenant enforcement, assessment collection, litigation, and dispute resolution.

In addition, Gregory is the author of Texas Homeowners Association Law, the only comprehensive legal reference manual on the state and federal laws governing Texas community associations, and he has the distinguished honor of membership in the Community Associations Institute’s College of Community Association Lawyers, an organization whose membership consists of attorneys that have demonstrated skill, experience and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of community association law and who are dedicated to excellence in the specialized practice of law.

Jeff Kerrane, Kerrane Storz


Jeff has served as a dedicated advocate for homeowners and community associations in Colorado and Texas for over 30 years. His advocacy has included helping to draft construction defect legislation in both states, supporting Colorado’s Build Our Homes Right (BOHR) coalition, and authoring numerous amicus curiae briefs in cases impacting homeowner rights. He has testified before multiple state and local legislative committees on homeowner and community association issues. Beyond his extensive courtroom practice, Jeff has been widely published in journals including the Santa Clara Law Review, Nevada Lawyer, California Regulatory Law Reporter, Condo Management Magazine, Recharger Magazine, and in regional publications of the Community Associations Institute (CAI). He is also a frequent speaker on construction defect and community association law, having presented programs for CAI, the Nevada Ombudsman’s Office for Community Associations, the Nevada Real Estate Division, the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, and the California Association of Community Managers.
