Forum Day & Mini Expo | Dispute Resolution
4/25/2019
2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Event Description
Education Forum for Community Managers & Volunteer Leaders
Please join us for a discussion about the resources available for managing disputes in your neighborhood. The Austin Dispute Resolution Center will be providing information on how they can assist you as well as a discussion on their process and procedures.

David Huang is the Austin DRC representative. David has served as Case Manager and Director of Case Management and Volunteer Mediator Services since 1995. He attended Southwestern University receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. In addition to insuring the public has access to qualified and affordable mediation services at the DRC, David provides training and participates in formal Basic Mediation Training services as a coach. He supervises new mediator recruitment and oversees orientation and observational practicums as well as hosting visits from a variety of students interested in mediation and related services. David was born in Taiwan and raised in Panama and is fluent in Spanish. He is a principle mediator for our Spanish mediations and is an active recruiter for qualified mediators who can also mediate in Spanish -- a growing need for Travis and surrounding counties.

In Part II of the Forum, there will be a mock case-study presented by Board member and credentialed mediator, Pat Katchinoski. Pat will be joined by Gregory Cagle, Managing Partner of Cagle Carpenter Hazlewood, who will represent the Association; and Clint Brown of RMWBH who will represent the Homeowner and Lulu the pot-bellied pig.

Come out and see how it works as well as participate in the discussion.
